Kolkata: Trinamool Congress on Thursday submitted documents to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) three days after the agency re-sent a notice to the party seeking details of the party's accounts.

TMC leader Tapas Roy said after submitting the papers said, “On the instruction of the party, we have submitted documents on behalf of the party”. Asked if they have submitted accounts as sought by the CBI, he said, "(We have given) whatever they have asked for".

In connection of their probe in the Saradha scam , the CBI on Monday had  send a notice to the TMC  asking them to submit all financial details for the years 2010-2014, including the sale details of the Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s painting which was bought by the Sarada boss Sudipta Sen.

The Special Crime Branch of CBI  investigating  the Saradha ponzi scam had resend the  notice to Trinamool Congress all-India General Secretary Subrata Bakshi seeking details of the party's accounts.

The notice was send  to Bakshi as he is presently holding the post of general secretary after the recent exit of Mukul Roy who was removed from the post allegedly after speaking against the party line about the ongoing Saradha investigation. The party was given a week’s time for response.

In an apparent reference to the CBI's notice asking for the account details, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee had attacked the Modi government on Wednesday saying, "If you want my party's account, go and take it from income tax. Notices will pile up and we will send them back to you. You have come to power and are sending me notices. Tomorrow you will not be in power. The people will send you notice.”
