Kathmandu: A total of 5057 people died in Nepal from Saturday's earthquake and about 100 in neighboring India and China. Approximately 8,000 people are injured while the United Nations’ estimates that eight million people have been exaggerated by Nepal's worst natural disaster.

The Nepal government in its announcement said the number of casualties might reach near to ten thousand.

The rescuers are racing against time to find the survivors. Supplies are running short in the devastated region. Thousands of people began gathering   before dawn outside the main bus station after the government promised to arrange special services.

But when the buses didn’t turn up, anger broke out between the crowds and the columns of riot police who were sent in to control the situation near parliament. The Police had to intervene to contain anger among survivors of the earthquake.

The region is devastated by a series of earthquakes that struck on Saturday on a magnitude of 7.5 on Richter scale and on Sunday of 6.8 magnitudes on Richter scale.

The tremors were also felt in China, Bhutan, Pakistan and India as well.

In India, tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim. As per the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the quake was Lamjung in Nepal.
