Dhaka: At least twenty people lost their lives in a stampede here. The poor people were rushing to receive donated clothes when they lost the control. 

More than 1500 gathered outside the gates of the tobacco factory before dawn after receiving word the owners would be handing out free clothes as part of Zakat or charity since holy month of ramzan is about to end.

The stampede, which took place in Mymensingh district, injured dozens more and the death toll may rise, District Police Chief Moinul Haque informed the media.
