CBI Court framed charges against Kalmadi and others in CWG scam. The CWG OC 2010 had illegally awarded contract to install TSR system at an inflated rate that caused over Rs. 90 crore losses to public exchequer.
New Delhi: A CBI court has framed charges against Suresh Kalmadi and nine others in Commonwealth Games scam on Monday. The sacked CWG Organising Committee members have been charged with cheating, conspiring, abusing his official position and causing a loss of over Rs 90 crore to public exchequer.
Special CBI Judge Ravinder Kaur has charged Kalmadi and nine others, including former OC Secretary General Lalit Bhanot, OC`s Director General V K Verma, Director General (Procurement) Surjit Lal, Joint Director General (Sports) A S V Prasad and Treasurer M Jayachandran under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act.
