B05 ballistic missile K-15 met its full range of 700 km and hit the target down in the waters of the Bay of Bengal.
Visakhapatnam: India tested the underwater ballistic missile K-15 successfully from the Visakhapatnam coast on Sunday. The K-15 missile which is code named as B05 marks an end to the series of trials.
The missile was tested for its full range of 700 km and the mission met all its objectives. The impact accuracy of the medium range strategic missile was in single digit.
The ten meter tall Submarine launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) lifted off from a pontoon in its twelfth flight trial that rose to an altitude of 20 km and reached a distance of about 700 km and finally splashed down in the waters of the Bay of Bengal near the target point.
